Watch Less TV

 

Limit TV watching to 1 hour a day. Decide what your hour of TV watching will consist of before turning it on. Like an all you can eat buffet, consciously choose to moderate what you want/need to eat most before you start digging in.

 

During commercials, try lifting some hand-held weights, doing some situps or doing short house-cleaning tasks during commercials. If enjoying a movie, pause in between scenes to get up,mess around or move around!

 

In short, balance TV watching or long work hours behind the computer with healthy eating, and at least 30 consecutive minutes of physical activity a day to maintain a healthy weight and lower your risk of cancer.
